The Consultation & Discovery

The journey always begins with a conversation. This initial meeting is a chance to explore your ideas, the sentiment behind the piece, and the story you wish it to tell.

Understanding Your Vision

You can bring anything that inspires you—from rough sketches and photos to family heirlooms. We'll discuss your ideas to form a clear creative direction.

Exploring Styles & Practicality

We'll talk about your personal style and lifestyle to ensure the final design is not only beautiful but also practical and comfortable for you to wear.

Materials & Budget

An open, honest conversation about your budget allows us to suggest the most suitable precious metals and gemstones, ensuring the final piece is perfect in every way.

002

Concept Development & Hand Sketching

Following the consultation, the first creative step is to translate your ideas into initial concepts. This often begins with traditional hand-sketches, a fluid and artistic way to explore shapes, proportions, and the overall feel of the design. We will review these drawings with you, refining the concept together until it perfectly captures your vision.

Digital Craftsmanship & Visualisation

Once the design is refined, we move to the digital realm. Using specialised Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, a highly detailed and precise 3D model of the jewellery is built. From this model, we create photorealistic images, known as 'renders', to show you exactly how the finished piece will look.

004

Prototyping & Tangible Design

To bridge the gap between the digital image and a physical object, we use a 3D printer to create a life-sized prototype of your design, typically in a castable wax or resin. Holding this model is a vital step, allowing you to get a real sense of the jewellery's scale, shape, and how it feels to wear.

005

Sourcing Precious Metals & Gemstones

While the design is being perfected, our gemmologists begin the careful process of sourcing the ideal gemstones for your piece. We are committed to responsible and ethical practices.

Ethical & Traceable Sourcing

We work with trusted suppliers to provide gemstones from conflict-free sources, with a focus on traceability wherever possible.

A Curated Selection

We will present you with a hand-picked selection of stones. You'll have the opportunity to view them up close, comparing their unique characteristics to find the one that truly captivates you.

006

The Art of Creation & Casting

With the design finalised, our master goldsmiths begin the physical creation. The 3D-printed wax model is used in a traditional technique called 'lost-wax casting'. The model is encased in a plaster-like investment to create a mould. When heated in a kiln, the wax melts away, leaving a perfect, hollow cavity. Molten precious metal is then poured into this mould. Once cooled, the mould is broken away to reveal the 'raw casting'—the first metal form of your jewellery.

The Intricate Art of Setting

The raw metal casting is meticulously cleaned, filed, and prepared for the gemstone. This is the work of a specialist stone setter, an artisan with incredible precision. The setter's job is to secure the stone while enhancing its natural beauty and brilliance. They expertly hand-carve a 'seat' in the metal for each gem and then carefully work the surrounding metal to hold it securely and permanently in place.

The Final Polish & Finish

This is the transformative stage where the piece truly comes to life. Through a multi-step process using progressively finer polishing compounds, the metal is brought from a dull, raw state to a brilliant, mirror-like shine. Every surface and detail is carefully polished by hand to achieve a flawless finish.

Hallmarking & Your Guarantee of Quality

Before a piece is complete, it is legally required to be independently tested and verified. We send it to a UK Assay Office, where the precious metal content is confirmed. A series of small marks, the 'hallmark', is then stamped or lasered onto the metal. This is your permanent guarantee of purity and provenance.
